“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure” - Nelson Mandela
There are plenty of women we meet in our lives, like men would tell you we come in different sizes, shapes and colors. Each one mostly different from the other and yet amongst this huge milieu of women, there are some who are different. Like the cliché goes, ‘not because they are made differently, but because they do things differently’
To many people the phrase ‘Amazing woman’ would mean someone who is immensely successful in what she does, someone who almost fits into the category of superwoman maybe? Perhaps yes and then perhaps we would define it as something slightly more. The world is full of rich and successful women, and then there are a category of women who might not be rich, may not be immensely successful in terms of power, but they have that quality about them that makes people talk about them, give them a second look. These are women who have made a difference, even in their own quiet or blazing ways. And more often than not these are the women who inspire us.
Our series on ‘Amazing Women’ seeks to bring out women who have given themselves a dimension other than what they have been born with. They can be thinkers, doers, achievers, but mostly they are women who stand out, in any time, in any era.

Fab premise Maitreyee. Hope you get all the right stories. I am sure you will. I somehow hate this term, "Woman of substance" ! WTF ! When u r a woman, and when u r capable of taking this human race forward - of course you are all about substance ! Here's a salute to all women i know - from my mother, to my daughter ! Best wishes ladies ! Ayon
