The 2011 IIFA Awards, officially the 12th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony, was held in Toronto, Canada from June 23rd to25th, 2011.The Awards ceremony took place at Rogers Centre and the Music and Fashion Extravaganza at the Ricoh Coliseum.
This is the first time the IIFA has been be held in Canada and North America. Toronto's large South Asian population likely influenced the choice as a host city (Ontario is the province with the most Indo-Canadians at 573,250 with 484,655 in the Greater Toronto Area).
The striking feature of this year's celebration was the "Green Carpet" instead of the usual Red one. In support of IIFA's Go Green movement, some of the divas did wear green outfits.The B-town divas like Genelia D'Souza, Amrita Puri, Prachi Desai and Sonakshi Sinha to the senior lot including Sridevi, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Amisha Patel, Malaika Arora Khan - all of them sported different variety of gowns. Even Mallika Sherawat, Neha Dhupia and Dia Mirza came in gowns at the at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony.
Most of the B-town divas were seen sporting western outfits this year, short, long, trailed, ruffled, off-shoulder, single shoulder - the variety was there for all to see.

Not many were seen in Sarees this year! Esha Deol looks good for a change! The mom still looking gorgeous. The embelished full sleeved blouse makes the entire outfit very elegant.

The biggest fashion Faux pas of the event. Check Bipasha's ruffled gown and in the next picture check out Amisha's gown! Yeah they landed up wearing the same gown!!!! Thank god the colors were different!

Sridevi officially announced her comeback at the event. She looks good in her red gown. Jahnavi, looks pretty. We have to wait and watch if she decides to follow her mom's foot steps and enter the tinseltown
