We all update our wardrobes in winter. The winter colors are rich and intense in contrast to the light and muted summer colors. We can go with the dark shades of red, blue and green along with the evergreen black n white duo; which always steals the show!
The Mantra of the winter fashion is "stay warm and look stylish" as very aptly reported by Kirstin Cole CBS 2's consumer reporter. Looking stylish in your warm clothing can be a little tricky. Winter clothing always brings a picture of heavy parkas, sweaters and jackets, looking like the Michelin Man. Most of us dislike this part of the year because we think that these bulky heavy clothes will steal our fashion statements from us. But hey! That’s not always true. In my opinion, even if you want to wear those chiffony kurtis in midst of a cold rainy day, you can do that! How? Wear a matching ribbed "turtle neck" inside. Trust me "Turtle necks" can do wonders! you can even pair your
chiffon saree with a ribbed “turtle neck”, and can still turn the heads ; just carry it off with the proper accessories such as jewelries, handbags and shoes and who knows you can even win the "best dressed award"!
Turtle necks come in various eye catching colors, just choose the color that’s right for you and just go ahead pair it with anything you want!
It’s not true that women can not show their curves in winter, you can still wear those mini skirts, just wear them with your tights and your boots. You can look so sophisticated with those long coats with good cut and a proper flare. The Pea coats are the stylish alternatives for those who don’t like to go for the long ones. The hats, mittens and scarves are the must haves in places where it snows where as in the warmer parts the hats and the scarves can also become your fashion accessesories.
Kohl's and J.C Penny, always has a good selection of winter clothing which you can afford, even Wal-Mart sometimes has great selections go check them out!
Don’t go under covers because its winter... Flaunt yourself! Pick the right color; choose the right style! But don’t forget to stay warm.
