Posted in

SKIN, the largest organ of our body is constantly taking the toll of pollution, smoke, environmental toxins, UV damage and of course stress which unfortunately has become the part of our lives. So indulging in a relaxing skin detox ritual is a treat for our skin as well as for ourselves.

I am always on a lookout for natural skin care recipes which are deeply nourishing and has the potential to calm down my acne prone sensitive skin. Sometimes you become desperate when you have specific skin issue which keeps bothering you. The major concern in case of acne breakouts is dark spots/blemishes. When you are in your teens you get breakouts but the marks fade away soon. But as you age the blemishes stay longer, sometimes for months and sometimes they never go unless you do something about it. Therefore, incorporating remedies for fading blemishes/acne spot is an important part of skincare ritual.

What is Moroccan Red Clay

Red Clay (aka Rhassoul Clay) is a naturally occurring clay originated from Moroccan. Its mineral rich content makes this clay ideal for hair/skin cosmetic preparations. One of the most important aspects of the clay is its ability to draw out impurities and toxins from the skin. Also, unlike other clays, this clay is very gentle, highly absorbent and easily mixes with water. It gently exfoliates and detoxifies the skin without drying or irritating the skin.

Benefits of RED CLAY mask for skin:

● Reduce redness and inflammation

● Fade scars/blemishes

● For normal skin use this mask once a week. For oily skin use this mask 2 to 3 times a week.

This mask delivers immediately visible results similar to a professional treatment. The mineral rich red clay reduces the pigmentation in problem areas where pimples previously formed and improves skin texture. Just with one treatment

● You can add aloe vera juice or green tea instead of water to enhance the benefits of this mask.

● Also in order to add moisturizing benefits you can add glycerine, raw honey or any noncomedogenic oil to the mask.

● If the sole purpose of using this mask is to control oil/sebum production then do not add anything else to moisturize.

● For acne prone skin add raw honey to the mask as it is antibacterial.

About the author: When I was in India, I was a Financial Service Consultant with the MBA degree, screwed up in a 9-5 full time monotonus job. I got married and moved to USA in 2009. Most of us dream of that. But truly speaking the day I landed at LAX Airport I was not excited. I was only missing my family, relatives, friends. The flow of emotions were so intense that initially I used to feel, when will I go back..back to my country my people. I used to nag..nag a lot. Days passed and I realised thatthere is no way out and I have to stay here at least till my husband’s project will continue. That wasthe peak time for me to decide whether to waste this time in nagging or should I make itworthwhile. When you are alone you get so much time to dip your hands in stuff you neverthought of, to understand that your life has a purpose. I got fascinated towards DIYs, healthyliving, crafting, writting and beauty which inspired me to pursue the esthetics course in and Ibecame a licensed Esthetician. I never thought of doing all this when I used to sit in a small bank cubicle. Few of my articles got published in the Indian magazine Woman's Era which boosted myconfindence and I stared blogging. Now every morning I wake up with a purpose,to learn, toshare. I want to learn and grow with each passing day and thats the aim of my life. Simple. Right!
