In one of my talks with an MBA student, we got discussing on the program ‘Satyamev jayate’, hosted by Mr. Aamir Khan. My young friend was very enthused by the fact that finally someone was talking about issues that matter and the media as well as people were sitting up and taking notice. Having had a case in his own home, where a cousin of his was mis-treated because she eventually gave birth to a female child, the episode on female foeticide struck a deep chord somewhere.
I have always believed in the power of the young and the necessity of taking their opinions seriously when it comes to bringing about any change in society. Enthused by the idea of talking to the students on what their opinions were on female foeticide, we visited the CMR Group of Institutions, in Bangalore and talked to its students on their personal opinions on the issue.
Like we already know, when it comes to social issues that govern our society, education is perhaps not enough, we need to be aware and ignite bright young mind into bringing about that change. This discussion is a small endeavor by B’Khush to keep that flame of change and awareness going.

A message from Piyali Ganguly, owner of Pia Ka Ghar: "PKG wants to get involved in this particular initiative of B'Khush because we want to foster the emanicipation of women. This starts with caring for the female fetus as anxiously as most people in India care for its male counterpart. And, it is a strong step against the establishment which condones such practices in this day and age. This is a just cause and we want to use just means to fight it."
