Looking over your shoulder I am learning to see the world,
A rainbow or two, and watch colorful petals unfurl.
Looking over your shoulder I will ride the waves,
Hike a tough trail and explore haunted caves.
Looking over your shoulder, I will learn to reverse my very first car,
Ace every test and be fearless to travel afar
Looking over your shoulder, I will take the world in its stride.
But Baba, for all other times when I want to feel safe .. Your shoulder is where this little face will hide.
