With the beautiful Spring/Summer setting in, it is the time to flaunt vivacious colours and your true style. An array of colours that are in vogue this year, the season will be the trendiest among the fashion circuit. We talk to designers to know more about the trends in colour this season.
This season, fashionistas will see more of vibrant colours replacing the wardrobe from dull black and white colours wrapped in heavenly fabrics, adorned with nude shades, pastels and shades of green. In a season full of lightness and fluidity, solid colours, vibrant prints and evoking shades of greens, reds and blues would rule the season.
The spring summer collection by Kazo is just another reason for the fashion savvy to get themselves pampered. From super sized bows, high low hems, knotted straps, small collars, pleats, zig zag stitches Kazo has it all this season.
"The collection draws inspiration from the nature, the clothes has selective prints of birds, feathers, butterflies, flowers and more. The use of bold and bright hues add a complimenting contrast to the neutral colour palettes. The new collection also sees presence of abstract tribal designs," informs Deepak Aggarwal.
Fashion designer Dolly J believes, "Spring/Summer is surely the time to flaunt loads of colours. There will be an array of shades from green to yellow to orange which will be in vogue this season. Not only will the colours but patterns, designs and layering too attract the fashion divas."
Talking about the trend for the season fashion designer Jenjum informs, "Lots of layering in terms of cuts, bring two-three things together and play around jerseys in pastel shades."
For spring, designers are inspired by diverse influences showcasing a range of styles from free to playful, light and breezy to contemporary classic. Colours reflect the moods and persona of the wearer so it is more important for the wearer to choose a colour that not only compliments the personality but also enhances the mood. Vivid bright colours, soft muted tones and fun-loving pastel shades will surely add a touch of glamour to the wardrobe.
Designer label Monapali has always designed from taking inspiration from India and has always used vibrant colours in their collection. For the spring summer collection the designer has launched a special collection namely 'Phirkee' which is described as circle of life. Talking about the collection Mona shares, "The collection is all about life and the spin wheel has got so much of colour in it so taking cue from the spin wheel we have chosen colours, designs that reflect the mood of the wearer. I have described stages of life in our collection while using shades of vibgyor."
A bold spring colour palette of bright reds, electric blues, forest greens and mustard yellows is punctuated with more refined neutral tones and monochrome elements to give a vibrant and modern look to the feminine beauty.
Colour blocking continues to be key and is updated for spring with bold asymmetrically printed silk tunics and blouses, as well as classic full colour separates in reds, oranges, and greens - perfect for layering to achieve a modern colour clash.
Unusual knitted details add a modern update to wardrobe classics, a simple tunic dress by French Connection reworked in contrasting pointelle stitching giving an interesting texture clash and a 50s inspired knitted 'corset' top is a perfect addition to any wardrobe.
