Thank You Note from Papa’s Pets on Father’s Day!

Posted in

Marketing gimmick or not, just like any other occasion people are completing their last minute Father’s Day shopping. After all buying a gift for that special person is such a gratifying experience. Although there are people who opine, it is one more way to increase products sale. To them I would say who cares! We really do not need an occasion to gift something to someone special in our life but if we can celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, why not consider these special days to make our mom or dad feel extra special in our own way?

I have never felt the need or bothered to thank my dad for the beautiful life he has gifted us. So, I thought this is a perfect occasion for a thank you note for my Baba!

Be it education, values, or tips for our professional life, he has always been there as the guiding light. The most important lesson that I hold on to till date is to be a good soul and there were much more that he offered. As much as I can recall, since the time I have started appreciating the finer aspects of life, in his rhetoric style he would advice me and my younger sister, “Manush er moto manush hote hobe” (meaning: be a good human being) and would reiterate every now and then. But the duo of us pranksters would very cheekily laugh saying we do look like manush (human being) ain’t we? and giggle away to glory. Today I understand what he meant exactly and want to pass on some true values to my daughter. A total ‘no-nonsense, won’t take any crap’ sort of a dad he tried to instill a lot of discipline in us. He taught us to be sympathetic and encouraged us to grow independently. Today I owe much of my independence to him. He has been a very dear friend and a constant source of inspiration. I feel extremely happy when he proudly tells the world that I am his daughter! I wish to be as nice a parent as he is!

Had it not been for him, we would not look at life the way we do it now!

And there’s one more dad (my daughter’s dad) to whom I’d say she is as fond of you as you are and who would know it better than you! Here’s a thank you note from Ritisha to her papa!

“Once back from work tired with very little patience left when you feed me dinner and calmly deal with all my tantrums, inspite of your numerous meetings and calls, I just can’t but thank my stars (and mommy thanks her’s too ). Every day I jump with joy the moment I see you back home. I love to play with you in the park and wait eagerly for the weekend when you would spend all your time with me. I love those long drives with you (minus mommy of course), through the beautiful lush greenery sometimes ending with pizzas, cold drinks or ice-creams. And that play area in the neighborhood mall is my favourite papa . Though, I prefer the front seat but it’s okay to be in the car seat and tied down as long as we end up going to an exciting place. All in all, it’s been a grand 20 months with you. Though packet = patet, books = boo and doors = boo for now, I have started reading story books and sing Saa, Gaa, Paa, Nuu (Nee is Nuu). I know you don’t want me to grow up as you keep saying often but by next Father’s Day, there would be lot more in the platter. Isn’t that fun enough to look forward to?” - Ritisha

So, this Father’s Day I wish both the Dads all the happiness and a diet-healthy life!

Hope you cherish the gifts that came along ;-)

Without you I could not have pursued further studies after a span of nine years!

My blog is up too and I am unable to hold my excitement till both of you read the post!

The first Hero

Yeah - A Father is that "First hero" in a child's life - the silent provider, protector, and yet someone who is never in the reckoning when books get written. They are unsung. And yet somehow they don't mind. It's something like what you call "fatherhood" - right ? Let mamma take the limelight. We are content with the shadows ! Cheers ! Ayon

Ayon...you read my thoughts!

Indeed this was an occasion to make my baba feel special. Can you beat it when I was trying to post a photo of me and baba I could not come across any :( I felt miserable. There are so many with Maa though...Decided that end of the year when I get to meet them would schedule some exclusive photo session with him :)
