The last day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week was full of glamour, as Bollywood walked down the ramp for various designers. Actress Nargis Fakhri, Shahzaan Padamsee, Govinda and her daughter Narmada walked the ramp on the last day of the fashion fiesta to give a dose of glamour to the fashion madness.
Designer Tahera's collection 'New Slang' was a pair of opposite's fluidity with structure, masculine with feminine, austerity with quirky. Having drawn her inspiration from 'Squiggle Art', translated into contemporary, edgy batik and shibari prints were seen in her collection.
Her signature style being the same of feminine architecture was visible in her collection as she teams straight lines and rough chic tailoring with relaxed wraps and drapes. The designer took inspiration from the 18th century cravats and neckties were a starting point of her collection for the varied bow drapes which was visible throughout her collection.
Having used colours in an eclectic mix of navy, teal, desert nude, sage, lime and carol in khadi silk, dupian, georgette the designer tries to impress though.
To add a touch of glamour to her collection designer Sakshee Pradhan made 'Rockstar' Nargis Fakhri to walk the ramp for her. Having showcased the chic Urban Woman as the theme of the collection, her designs were subtle and vibrant. The designer offered both contemporary and classic looks through her collection.
Inspired by the moods of urban women, Sakshee's designs remain universally desirable as it adds a cosmopolitan flair. Using a variety of textures and shades of colours, the collection is versatile and inspirational.
Having walked the ramp for Sakshee, Nargis feels very nervous and excited at the same time. She said, "There was so much nervousness and excitement at the same time while walking the ramp. Walking for her was an amazing experience on the ramp. The dress is so soft, have satin feel and I am feeling so relaxed in it."
"The collection was done keeping the urban woman in mind who is career oriented, fashion enthusiastic, be a glam girl, a
young and happy women with which I can associate Nargis in my collection as she is young, peppy and career oriented too," she added.
Her collection featured modern designs in romantic off-whites which blend in beautifully with practical muted shades of beige and ends with the celebratory quintessential muted golds. The collection captured and represented the different moods of the urban chic and followed her wardrobe from romantic to all-day wear to divalicious ensembles.
Designer Sulakshana too focused her collection to a woman who seeks to combine luxury and futuustic fashion in her choices. Having designed the collection for the future woman the silhouettes were versatile, modern interpretation with Indian signature layering and asymmetry played the key role in her collection.
The designer dedicated her collection to Shehzan Padamsee, whom she feel is the futuristic woman and can associate with the collection. Having walked the ramp for Sulakshana, Shehzan shared, "I am feeling like a princess right now. There are lots of mix emotions. Sulakshana has a very unique taste and she asked me walk down for her design. She is always different in her design and the gown that I am wearing is a piece of art. Yesterday when I went to her studio, my eyes went on to this dress and I prayed to get to wear this. So I am just feeling amazing now."
The designer named her collection Sunkissed. She explained, "I have played with ivory colour as it is a bright day colour. As the moon sets ivory changes its colour and one can see shades of orange which looks amazing so Ivory, orange and black is the colour palette that I have used in the collection. I have used more modern techniques in that. I have used lot of Indian rich embroidery. I want to dedicate the collection to all women who want to experiment, who are young and who is ready to experiment."
Shehzan added, "Sulakshana is a family friend and it feels great to walk the ramp for her. I wanted to walk for her from quiet sometime and today got the chance to walk for her. The experience has been amazing and the dress that I am wearing I am falling in love with it and do not want to take it off. It's a great feeling to be in Delhi and part of fashion week. She has really rocked the collection."
About her fashion, Shehzan shared, "It's a very tricky question. Everybody asks me the same but I feel my fashion style would be kind of young and edgy so whenever I go out I stuck on floral prints and girly stuff. Something like this I am wearing is so different and on the ramp one gets to experiment and when the things look good so I feel may be I can also pull this of. I think today Sulakshana has given me new kind of look into wearing this and make me feel very fearless while wearing it. I love anything fitted and I love it."
Designer Pallavi Singhee also tried to experiment with her collection. Having named her collection 'My Vanguard', her collection symbolised a melting pot of alternate sub culture lacing fashion, rock, grunge and folk. She has used colour range from fiery pinks, reds to zesty yellow, browns and aqua.
The embroidery draws a strong inspiration from folk and tradition, zipping zardosi with katha and Phulkari. The grunge is introduced by tecturing and colour blotting with brunt undone finishing.
Designer Tanvi Kedia 'Montage' collection was more of digital prints. The technique of combining in a single composition
pictorial elements from various sources, as parts of different photographs or fragments of printing, either to give the illusion that the elements belonged together originally or to allow each element to retain its separate identity as a means of adding interest or meaning to the composition. The designer has used aesthetic colours with bold prints in her collection and riot of embellishments mix with dense craftiness.
Designer Abdul Halder, who will be going for the Paris Fashion Week, showcased his collection on the last day beyond the black and white. The designer's creation embraces the thoughts of the unlearned and the learned conditioned mind. His collection drew inspiration from strength of the delicate and graces the strongest.
Having represented the couture work in the prêt week, his collection exhibited the international experience. Inspired by lotsof embellishments, motifs and detailing on the garments the techniques of appliqué, zardosi, decorative pattern lines and texturing are used on varied silhouettes.
Designer-trio Viral, Ashish and Vikrant stayed subtle with their colletion. The collection was based on intricate bandage - a treasured tie and dye art from kutch as a central inspiration of the collection. Having transformed their taste this year the trio did impress the viewers.

The warrior silhouettes are inspired from the khatri community who is involved in the art of Bandhani. They have used the colours like black, indigo, henna and aubergine in the collection.
